so like...those of you who played the beta, what were your thoughts?
Because with each passing month and then year my desire for this keeps dropping.

Is it just reskinned D2 with a cash shop and the possibility of a nipple shot in a FMV?

Beta is good. but hard to judge properly because u get only 1/3 of act 1 to play so its very short.

D1 and D2 are the only games I have ever played that I managed to play to the end, and not just once multiple times. No other games had me play it out.

The beta to me feels pretty repetitive i have to admit. I havent been able to finish it, the saemsamesamesamesame sound effect of hitting is the quickest path to wife rage (quicker than the shaman wolf pet howling all the time in everquest 1 even)

I've not seen the usual hype over this.
Sure there are two successful predecessors but even with a couple of people here in beta the pimping has been minimal.
I will probably get it for the co-op if anyone is interested to hook up.
I'll be late getting it cos I'll be fucked if I am paying $80 when I can get it for $50.
Unless I can DL it from somewhere and then add the key from my physical copy which should be possible.

yeah the main reason i will get this will be for the coop i think, i loved d2 for coop it was very fun, but with the beta i have finnished it a few times but every patch was a character wipe so i never had the sense or urgency to keep doing it, because i knew the next beta patch my char would get wiped,

but i loved previous versions and i will still get this

I think the lack of hype is partly due to its lengthy development time, but moreso the fact that it really doesn't feel like it's advanced the series at all. Some will argue that it's not necessary to as it's a pretty specific style of game, but the feeling of newness just isnt there IMO.

If you want to buy it via battle.net you can login and get the digital copy from there for AU$80 but with a few clicks you can save AU$10.
From the wonderful whirlpool.net.au

OK, for all those wondering how to purchase it in SGD. See below…

    1. Log into https://us.battle.net/account/managemen ... -game.html
    2. Note that the balance on the right-hand side most likely reads in AUD, as does the price of Diablo III
    3. Click Transaction History > Balance History
    4. Select US Dollars from the currency drop-down menu
    5. Click Games & Codes > Buy Digital Games
    6. Diablo III should now be listed in $90 SGD (i.e. $69 AUD)
    7. Continue ordering as per usual. The game version is Global, so you're not getting a Singaporean version here.

How many of you are going to get this?

I never got into D2 but if there will be most of the old crew playing, will probably pick it up for epic vent lulz. I heardeded that Julian has disappeared of the face of the earth? confirm/deny?

He is currently in North Korea doing a plethora of things such as working with the satellite "Kwangmyongsong-2" they are about to launch.
The message I got was he is assisting them in producing some of the revolutionary songs that will be transmitted back to earth celebrating the great Kim Jong II.
It all happened so fast, but he recently joined the Korean Friendship Association (KFA) and it took off from there.
Their objectives are
- Show the reality of the DPR Korea to the world
- Defend the independence and socialist construction in the DPR of Korea
- Learn from the culture and history of the Korean people

He also sent this trailer for a new film he has been offered a job on as Best Boy Grip.

Apparently Kim Jong II isnt dead either, he just wanted sometime to kick back and have some underpants time with Julian, his newest KFA member.

All I seem to get is emails asking me to come back to Lord of the Rings Online......never played it.

But as I write this SWTOR have given me 7days to try out the new patch so I might have a look at buying a VIP Room pass, top of the range mount and 1000 jukebox tokens and waste the week away.

We're pleased to announce the Diablo III open beta weekend, which offers open access to all players with a valid Battle.net account! Beginning this Friday everyone is invited to log in and help us put the game and servers through their paces in this three day stress test as we march toward the game's release on May 15. You can begin downloading the Diablo III client right now!
From Friday, April 20 at 12:01 p.m. PDT (noon), until Monday, April 23 at 10:00 a.m. PDT you'll be able to log in, team up with friends, and play each of the five heroic classes to level 13 as you fight to save the world from the impending demonic invasion.

15.1GB thank fuck my roll over is in a day so this doesnt fuck up GW2.
and as per the usual blizz thingy you dont need to DL all of it to start playing plus I dont think it was even 15GB.

Remember its not available to actually play until 5am tomorrow.....which explains wtf mine wasnt working ffs.

The open beta has begun and we've been extremely successful in that we've already managed to break a few things. We've capped the open beta concurrency until we can resolve some stability and service issues, and until it's resolved you will likely see an Error 37 when attempting to log in.

Error 12 - This is an error we're still investigating, but should only be appearing for Korean accounts which are not able to participate in the open beta. If you do not have a Korean account, we're still investigating this issue but suspect it may simply be due to the Battle.net Account services being slammed by the high volume of traffic or a communication issue between the game and account services.
Error 3003 - Click Options, under Account change your region to The Americas. The open beta is only being held on US hardware.
Error 315300 - Ensure you're using your Battle.net account email address to log in, and not your BattleTag. The BattleTag is an in-game nickname, not your account name.
Error 24000 - Once logged in you may run into this error when attempting to start a game. We're aware and are working to resolve it as quickly as possible.

Thats the list of possible errors you will get on logging in.
The top highlighted Error 37 is the most popular atm.
They are working on it and you might get lucky but would be nice if they posted an ETA of a fix.
Not sitting around waiting for it.

Edit: Possibly fixT

Weekenders will have access to the same beta game as closed players with the exception of not being able to post in the beta forums and not being provided Beta Bucks to use in the currency-based auction house.

Is that all the closed beta players have been able to play?
You'd only need a weekend.

Surely that isnt correct.
